Many textbooks cover the material of this course at an appropriate level. I will give references to the following books:
R. Shankar, Principles of Quantum Mechanics, 2nd Edition (Springer, 1994)
F. Mandl, Quantum Mechanics (Manchester Physics series; John Wiley, 1992)
S. Gasiorowicz, Quantum Physics, 3rd ed. (Wiley, 2003)
D. J. Griffiths, Introduction to Quantum Mechanics, 2nd Edition (CUP, 2017)
I have found two sets of extensive on-line quantum mechanics notes that are at the right level. Both go further than this course and will be useful for Advanced Quantum Mechanics in S2 as well.
One is by Prof Richard Fitzpatrick, of the University of Texas at Austin, UG and PG notes. The UG notes start at the level of our PHYS20101 course. The PG notes also start from the beginning but more in the style of this course, and cover vector spaces.
The other is by Prof Jim Branson of the University of California, San Diego, notes available here; these again start at the beginning.
For revision of vector spaces, Shankar and Griffiths both cover the material; in addition the following are roughly at the right level:
Prof Michael Fowler, University of Virginia, on vector spaces and functions as vector spaces
Prof Peter Kok, University of Sheffield, covers vector spaces in the first chapter of these note; see particularly section 1.4 which covers product spaces better than most sources.
Here are interesting articles on
the history of spin and the Stern-Gerlach experiment. (You will need to be on the UoM network to get the first.)
